It's clear a portion of the devs on this game had no idea how to make the game, while the other half did fantastic.

Without the trappings of character development and Diablo loot the only real reasons most would subject themselves to endless newbie wannabe fighting game errors , this game would get lost in the yet another average Ninja Gaiden misfire not to be confused with the good ones. The maps are god aweful. The placements pure troll due to the game forcing a rush to the kill as opposed to actual gameplay.

Mobs spam the same combos back to back. Most of the mobs are reskins and are endlessly copy and pasted through the game.

It's only successful because of levels and loot, not for it's less than masterful gameplay. This game was going to fail so they threw a Hail Mary, counted the Souls community and changed everything by beta. It's lucky it had a community that responded and the Diablo loot to fall back on. If you think I'm wrong, then why'd this team spend all its time adding more play throughs with new loot and more character development, instead of really broadening the game?
